Radical Candor
Creating a Culture of Feedback
We believe that the relationships you have with other team members is at the center of your success — individually and collectively. And, at the heart of these relationships is Radical Candor, a simple framework developed to help you build a culture of great feedback.
Radical Candor is the ability to give feedback in a way that challenges people directly and shows you care about them personally. It will help you and all the people you work with do the best work of your careers and build stronger working relationships. Our Radical Candor keynote will introduce you to concepts, vocabulary, and tactics you can put into practice immediately.
Radical Respect
Work Together Better
Kim Scott will describe what a Radically Respectful workplace is: one that optimizes for collaboration and honors each employee’s individuality. What gets in the way of Radical Respect? Bias, prejudice, and bullying. Too often, we conflate these three, making the problems they create feel monolithic and insoluble. But it doesn’t have to be so bad! When faced with a difficult problem, it’s useful to break it down into its component parts.
Kim will offer some simple definitions and some effective responses to each. She will identify what upstanders and leaders can do to ensure that we build a culture where everyone does the best work of their lives and enjoys working together.
In this talk, you will learn:
- The difference between bias, prejudice, and bullying
- Some suggested responses to bias, prejudice, and bullying
- Some additional ways that upstanders can intervene
- Some practical, tactical ways that leaders can prevent bias, prejudice, and bullying on their teams
